About the Artist
Robert The Artist
Robert Johnson is a passionate artist who loves to paint. Growing up, his unwavering passion for the arts began in high school when he discovered his natural talent. He hasn’t looked back ever since.
Drawing inspiration from Mother Nature and classical architecture, Robert’s paintings pay tribute to his community at large. He portrays many subjects and has two different distinct styles, one realistic and one whimsical. Robert loves to ride his bike and gather ideas for his next painting. Hopping in his kayak also gives him another vantage point to observe from.
Robert's artwork was first exhibited professionally in Key West's Gingerbread Square Gallery, where he had multiple one-man shows showcasing his paintings of the town. While residing on Anna Maria Island, he participated in over 100 juried outdoor art festivals, collecting numerous awards and fans. Proudly he has many paintings in the permanent collection at the Marietta Museum of Art in Sarasota.
Summers have found him painting around the province of Ontario where he is meticulously working on a Niagara Falls, Toronto and Muskoka series. Recently, Robert has opened a studio and gallery in the village of Hensall, ON. He plans to offer paint nights so keep an eye out for upcoming dates.
Outside of the art world, Robert Johnson enjoys sports of all kinds, including tennis, kayaking, cycling, beach volleyball and windsurfing.
