Robert Wiener
ROBERT WIENER — Born in Washington, DC, Robert Wiener grew up in the Washington Metro Area. He attended Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia, where he obtained a BS in Business Management. After graduating, he spent 20 years in the Accounting and Finance profession.
Robert Wiener has attended several metropolitan area studios as well as The Studio at The Corning Museum of Glass to receive his art glass training. In 2004 he opened his own private studio in Washington, DC.
ARTIST STATEMENT
"Much of the past several years I have immersed myself in exploring warm glass, primarily through instruction and guidance from several exceptional glass artists. While some instructors emphasize structure and technique, others accentuate individual style and personal expression. As I grow as an artist, I am striving to succeed on both counts. My most recent work, the Colorbar Murrine Collection, affords me the opportunity to experiment with color and fusing temperatures, and to express a personal style that reflects simplicity with a close attention to detail.”
