Robert Sarsony
ROBERT SARSONY — Robert Sarsony's style lies between realistic and impressionistic, not as loose as the French, but not nearly so tight as the realistic painters of today. Like many Impressionists before him, he eliminates the details that do not contribute to his concept. In many of his paintings, some areas of the canvas are completely detailed while others are left illusionary or sketchy.
Upon viewing a painting by Robert Sarsony, one is immediately aware that the work was produced by a rare and gifted master. In his figure paintings, he records quiet, reflective moments that present glimpses of figures unconcerned with the viewing audience; we are admitted to the private world of the subject.
