Jason Lawson
JASON LAWSON — Jason Lawson draws much of his inspiration from the works of Italian artists of the early 20th century. Trained in the age-old technique of off-hand glassblowing, he revels in the fluidity and immediacy of this amazing material.
An avid admirer of great design, Lawson strives to convey a sensibility that goes beyond the vessel. Whether he is pushing a common bowl into the realm of sculpture, or bringing an abstract form into the light of everyday objects, Lawson is always on the lookout for new opportunities to express his unique vision in glass.
Color plays a big role in Lawson's work. He carefully chooses from a wide palette to enhance his often tall, always shapely works, which can be found in top galleries around the country.
"As an artist, I have always been inspired by the human figure and its relationship with nature, focusing on the dynamics of the masculine and the feminine." — Jason Lawson
