KAE KNIGHT —Her titles say it all. Knight’s “art community” is filled with jazz greats: the invention of Miles and Coltrane, the humor and surprise of Mingus and Monk, the musical architecture of Bill Evans and the uplifting optimism of Brubeck. She calls on their innovation and willingness to fail, as models for creating something fresh and unpredictable.
Knight received her BFA degree, summa cum laude. In the years since she has participated in dozens of solo and group shows and won many awards from Maryland on the East Coast to California on the West Coast. Her art is in private collections across the country.
Embrace Beauty!
“Beautiful work! Knight has created a body of work that fuses an Asian aesthetic and modern concepts with 20th Century Physics. The result is pleasing to the eye and satisfying for the soul”
- Leonard Shlain, Best-selling author of
“Art & Physics: Parallel Visions in Space Time & Light”
“Knight’s paintings are so original in conception - the colours are so beautifully contrasted... All in all a fascinating display!”
- Marian McPartland, jazz pianist, composer and host of NPR’s Peabody Award-winning “Piano Jazz”
“I like Knight’s paintings, of course. Their coloring reminded me,
in its boldness, of Wayne Thiebaud...”
- John Updike, Pulitzer Prize-winning author and art essayist.
