Elaine Elinsky

ELAINE ELINSKY — Elaine Elinsky says, "I am a contemporary, impressionistic oil painter living and working in Virginia. I use color and brush strokes to create still life and landscape paintings. I come from a family of creative people. My father was a talented wood carver who created carousel horses and a variety of other playful and colorful wood sculptures and pictures. My brother is a well-known stained glass artist in England. His studio in London produces both traditional and contemporary windows for public and private spaces.

I have been interested in art and art history all my life. After a career in health care consulting, I began to seriously study studio painting, taking classes at the Art League in Alexandria, Virginia; the Corcoran School of Art in DC; the Loudoun Academy of Art in Leesburg , Virginia and the Yellow Barn Studio in Glen Echo, Maryland. I continue to take workshops and classes and every time I go in to the studio I learn something new. I find the process of painting exhilarating, frustrating and just plain fun! I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating it".
