Mirco Bastianello
MIRCO BASTIANELLO — Glass aratist, Mirco Bastianello was born in 1975 and started working with glass at the young age of fifteen. His first experience was with the “a lume” technique. He soon went to work for Archimede Seguso, where he had the opportunity to learn from one of the most eminent masters in Murano.
Other work experience included a stint at Ferro Lazzarini and at Mazzuccato International, where he worked with his father-in-law, the noted glassblower Silvano Signoretto. Today Bastianello is a partner in a well-known glass firm, where he has the opportunity to explore sculpture and color and express himself as an individual artist.
Bastianello began working with “calcedonia” over six years ago. His formula delivers a beautiful marbleized pattern which is highly prized. He is certainly a glassmaker to watch. At his young age he has already achieved a remarkable mastery of the material. It will be truly interesting to watch how he continues to grow and develop.
