Daniel Pritchett
DANIEL PRITCHETT — Daniel Pritchett was born on December 9, 1974 in Lubbock, Texas, and has lived in multiple locations across the United States. Daniel expressed natural artistic ability early in life, and received training at Belhaven College in Jackson, Mississippi under the mentorship of Canadian photorealist, Bruce Bezaire.
Daniel Pritchett's photorealistic paintings are the product of a painstaking process requiring hundreds of hours of work. His compositions are solved in-camera, before the canvas is stretched, and then faithfully reproduced using a variety of painting techniques, from working wet into wet to glazing to dry brush. Daniel's paintings reflect the beauty and grandeur of the world around him, while retaining a sense of quiet wonder and isolation.
Daniel's work has been described as a "most-excellent example of contemporary representational art" (Doyle Gertjejansen), and "the finest work of it's kind that I have ever seen a student achieve." (Bruce Bezaire) Daniel Pritchett is currently living and working in Richmond, Virginia with his wife and son.
